CM will preside over the cabinet meeting
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will chair the state cabinet meeting on Wednesday. Infrastructure development, budget presentation, the state’s financial position and the safety of Malayali students stranded in conflict-torn Ukraine are on the table.
CPI(M) state committee meeting
The newly formed State Committee of Communist Party of India (Marxist) will meet today at AKG Center in Thiruvananthapuram. The meeting is likely to consider organizational matters, including former Idukki MLA S. Rajendran’s petition against disciplinary action and the party Congress in Kannur next month. It will also debate new strategies to garner popular support to boost government infrastructure development, including the Silverline Semi-High Speed Rail Corridor project and private investment in the higher education sector.
Rahul Gandhi in Wayanadi
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will attend the meeting of District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee at Wayanad District Collectorate, Kalpetta. He is also likely to hold talks with Congress leaders of the district later.
High Court to consider Dileep’s plea to quash CB case
The Kerala High Court is likely to consider actor Dileep’s plea seeking quashing of the conspiracy case registered against him by the Crime Branch of Kerala Police. The agency had accused Mr Dileep of conspiring to murder the police officers who had accused him of conspiracy in the 2017 actor’s abduction and rape case.
DIG will go to Varkala to investigate the fire accident
Deputy Inspector General of Police, Thiruvananthapuram range R. Nishantini will lead the police team probing the death of five family members, including an infant, in a fire of mysterious origin in Varkala’s Cheriniyur in the early hours of Tuesday. Ms Nishantini is expected to inspect the scene of the fire later in the day.
KPCC President K. Congress rallies against CPI(M)’s “threat” against Sudhakaran
Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M], Idukki, KV Varghese’s alleged statement that Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee K. Sudhakaran is still alive as the party was liberal, sparking a political controversy. Congress leaders are expected to react strongly against Mr Sudhakaran in the form of a “hidden threat”.
