  1. Tanur boat tragedy: With the death toll expected to rise to 22, NDRF and Navy launched a search operation in the wee hours today. The process of postmortem has also started. The dead bodies will be handed over to the relatives in two hours.

  2. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Leader of the Opposition VD Satheesan will visit the accident site and the families of the victims today.

  3. The BMS union in KSRTC started the strike demanding timely payment of salaries to the employees. Long distance services are likely to be affected.

  4. The man arrested by the Ernakulam rural police for murdering his female colleague had planned the crime and even visited the place inside the forest where it was executed. The police are ready to demand his custody and reenact the crime by taking him along the route he took with the victim.
