Voting and discussion will take place on the demands for grants of various government departments in the Vidhansabha today.

Telangana Legislative Assembly will issue notification for the election of the Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Council. This post is vacant since last one and a half years. The nominations will be received tomorrow and the election will be held on February 12. Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS)’s Banda Prakash is tipped for the post as his name has been cleared by the party which enjoys full support in the 40-member House.

India’s first Formula E Prix for racing cars begins today. Twenty-two drivers representing eleven internationally renowned automobile companies will take part in the 2.8 kilometer road circuit, which will feature single seater electric cars.

Three accused in the sensational murder of Vivekananda Reddy, brother of former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy, were brought to Hyderabad from Kadapa jail to face trial. The Supreme Court had transferred the case from Cuddapah to the CBI court in Hyderabad. A total of five accused, including two on bail, will be produced in the court to mark the start of the trial.
