Total FDI during April-November of the current financial year stood at $54.1 billion

During April-November 2021-22, the country got a total of $54.1 billion in FDI

The total foreign direct investment (FDI) received by the country during April-November 2021-22 was $54.1 billion, lower than $81.97 billion received in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal, the government informed Parliament on Wednesday.

Total FDI includes equity inflows, reinvested income and other capital.

Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha said that FDI inflows play a vital role in raising domestic capital and help in promoting industrial growth and job creation in various sectors and industries.

In a separate reply, the minister said 16,737 startups have been recognized by the ministry till January 31.

In reply to another question in Lok Sabha, Junior Commerce Minister Som Prakash said that to provide seed funding to startups through approved incubators in all sectors and sectors, the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade has been given the Startup India Seed. Fund scheme was launched. (DPIIT) on April 16, 2021.

He said that till December 31, 2021, 58 incubators have been sanctioned Rs.232.75 crore as grants and 146 startups have been funded by such approved incubators.
