Traffic disrupted in Delhi due to Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra, know how you can avoid jam

Traffic was affected in some areas of South East Delhi as Congress’s Bharat Jodo Yatra, led by party leader Rahul Gandhi, entered the city on Saturday morning. On Friday, the traffic police had issued a warning to commuters about the routes that would affect travel. The journey will stop at Ashram Chowk in the country’s capital at 11 am and will resume at 1 pm. Later in the day, when the yatra moves towards Red Fort via Mathura Road, India Gate and ITO, traffic jams are expected in several areas of central Delhi.

The advisory states that the yatra will reach Jai Dev Ashram near Ashram Chowk at around 10.30 am and reach Jai Dev Ashram near Ashram Chowk at around 10.30 am and end at Red Fort at around 4.30 pm. It said that a large number of pedestrians and vehicles are expected to join the yatra at various points along the route.

There is a possibility of heavy traffic from Badarpur border to Red Fort. The advisory states that commuters are requested to cooperate by avoiding or bypassing the affected roads and make maximum use of public transport to ensure a smooth journey.

Earlier, the Delhi Traffic Police released the list of places to be affected and outlined guidelines for people to avoid traffic jams in the national capital.

The yatra, which began on September 7 from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu, has so far covered nine states and is scheduled to end in Jammu and Kashmir by the end of January. The yatra is on its 108th day and has covered a distance of nearly 3,000 kilometers in 46 districts in nine states of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Haryana.
