Traffic likely to be affected in parts of central Delhi due to RSS farmers’ body protest

Traffic is likely to be affected in some parts of central Delhi due to the ‘Kisan Gurjan’ rally at Ramlila Maidan here on Monday, police said.

The rally is being organized by the Bharatiya Kisan Sangh (BKS), affiliated to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), from 11 am to 6 pm to seek various relief measures to improve the condition of farmers.

According to a Delhi Police advisory, around 50,000 to 55,000 people are expected to attend the Maidan in 700 to 800 buses and 3,500 to 4,000 private vehicles.

It said the diversion points are Maharaja Ranjit Singh Marg, Mirdard Chowk, Minto Road, Ajmeri Gate, Chaman Lal Marg, Delhi Gate, JLN Marg, Kamla Market to Hamdard Chowk, Bhavbhuti Marg and Paharganj Chowk.

According to the advisory, traffic restrictions, regulation or diversion may be imposed on Ranjit Singh Flyover from Barakhamba Road to Guru Nanak Chowk, Minto Road to Golchakkar Kamla Market, Vivekananda Marg, JLN Marg (Delhi Gate to Guru Nanak Chowk).

The advisory said that passengers going to New Delhi, Old Delhi and Nizamuddin Railway Stations and Inter State Bus Terminal (ISBT) may be delayed, so they should plan their journey accordingly.
