Transfer news: Manchester United are ready to pay €30m for Inter Milan’s Denzel Dumfries

Manchester United are reportedly ready to spend €30 million for Denzel Dumfries, after reaching a deal with Dutch football club Feyenoord for defender Tyrell Malaysia. The Inter Milan defender is expected to sign for the Red Devils in the coming days.

According to a report published by Italian outlet L’Interista, Manchester United is set to pay €30 million to join the Dutch full-back.

Manchester United manager Eric ten Haag is believed to have identified the 26-year-old as a prime target. Ten Haag has reportedly been impressed with the way Dumfries has adapted to Serie A since leaving Dutch club PSV Eindhoven back in 2021.

The 26-year-old joined Inter Milan just 12 months ago for around £11 million. He impressed during his debut season, playing 45 matches in all competitions, as Inter finished as runners-up to rivals AC Milan. He has scored five goals for Inter Milan so far. In the recently concluded Serie A, he played 33 matches with five goals and four assists to his name.

Dumfries played 124 matches for PSV Eindhoven and scored 16 goals.

Inter Milan’s pitiable financial condition could force them to let go of some of their first-team star players in the current summer transfer window. Defender Milan Scriabin is expected to leave amid interest from Premier League club Chelsea and Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

Along with Dumfries, Manchester United have expressed their desire to add two more Dutch football players. They have reportedly reached a deal with Feyenoord for defender Tyrell Malasia. Barcelona midfielder Frankie de Jong also managed to garner considerable interest from Manchester United.

A report published by Sky Play It is claimed that talks on an initial £56million deal for the 25-year-old midfielder are progressing well.

Ten Haag took charge of his training session on Monday. The Red Devils will play their first pre-season friendly match against Liverpool on 12 July.
