Hubli: More than 3 lakh people are ready to unfurl the national flag at their homes as part of Har Ghar in the district tricolor Campaign from August 13 to August 15. There are more than 4.5 lakh houses in the district and over 3 lakh people are expected to hoist the tricolor flag in their homes.
The district administration is making every effort to make the campaign a great success by covering all the targeted families.
According to a source, the idea behind the initiative is to instill a sense of patriotism in the hearts of the people and promote awareness about the Indian National Flag.
The district administration has organized several awareness activities in twin cities and rural areas to urge more and more families to participate in the campaign. So far, the tricolor flag has reached more than three lakh houses in the district. More than 1.32 lakh houses have been identified in rural areas and more than 90,000 flags have been distributed to all Gram Panchayats. The distribution of flags from various sources will continue till August 12. People of twin cities, people of rural areas and all government offices have made all the arrangements and are excited to hoist the flag on 13th August.
Deputy Commissioner Gurudutt Hegde told TOI, “The campaign awareness activities are going on continuously. On August 13, the national flag will be hoisted in government departments, HDMC, schools, colleges, panchayats, Anganwadis etc. We hope that many families will actively participate in the tricolor campaign.
district Panchayat CEO Suresh Itnal said, “In rural areas, we have set a target of hoisting the flag in 1.32 lakh houses. 90,000 flags have already reached all gram panchayats and we will ensure that the number reaches 1.5 lakh. Overall, the Har Ghar Tricolor campaign is getting a very good response. People of rural areas are excited to hoist the flag at their homes on 13th August.
College student Rahul Shinde Dharwad He said, “We are all set to hoist the national flag at our house. This is a big occasion for the central government to hoist the flag in our house.
