Trio of MLA ‘poaching case’ appear before ACB judge

Three men accused of attempting to poach TRS MLAs were produced before an Anti-Corruption Bureau special court judge, who sent them to 14-day judicial custody.

Amidst a crowd of policemen, and intense media glare, the trio – Ramchandra Bharati alias Satish Sharma, Simhyajulu and Nand Kumar – were taken to the judge’s residence and produced before him.

Earlier in the day, the accused were taken from Cyberabad Police Commissionerate to Moinabad police station in police vehicles, and reportedly after due process, they were produced before the judge. As reported, his remand was rejected by the special court judge. However, after Cyberabad Police moved the HC, Justice Chillakur Sumalatha quashed the order.

The alleged TRS MLA poaching case created a flutter after two call recordings surfaced and went viral on social media and WhatsApp. The recording, in which purported inducements were discussed, was reportedly between an accused and an MLA.
