Guwahati: All India Trinamool Congress On Monday, released the list of its 27 star campaigners, including the party supremo and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee for the by-elections to the four assembly seats of Tripura to be held on June 23.
Party general secretary Abhishek Banerjee, who is one of the star campaigners, will begin the campaign on Tuesday with a roadshow in Bardowali constituency, from where Chief Minister Manik Saha will contest.
The four constituencies going for by-elections are Jubrajnagar, Agartala, Bordowali and Soorma and TMC Candidates have been fielded on all the seats.
These seats fell vacant after the death of CPM MLA RC Nath from Jubrajnagar, resignation of two BJP MLAs, Sudip Roy Burman (Agartala) and Ashish Kumar Saha (Bardowali) and another BJP MLA Ashish Das (Soorma). ) who have joined Trinamool Congress.
Other notable star campaigners include Shatrughan Sinha, former Meghalaya CM Mukul Sangma and former Assam Congress president Ripun Bora.
