Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao On Sunday, he asked his party MPs to make a strong demand in the winter session of Parliament beginning on Monday that the central government should bring a comprehensive and uniform food procurement policy for the country.

The Chief Minister has also convened a meeting of the state cabinet on Monday in which the plan and policy of comprehensive alternative crops to be implemented in the Yasangi season in the state will be discussed. The strategy to be adopted by the party in the winter session of Parliament was prepared in the meeting of the TRS Parliamentary Party. KCR prepared a road map for party MPs to attack the BJP-led government by raising various issues in both the Houses of Parliament, especially to protect the interests of Telangana and its farmers.
The CM said that a national policy on uniform food grain procurement is the need of the hour so that no state or its farmers suffer due to lack of clarity on annual procurement by the Centre. He said that due to the misleading policies of the Central Government, the farming community is facing problems in the state and across the country.

The TRS government is committed to protect the interests of farmers and the agriculture sector and the winter session of Parliament should be used as a main platform to put pressure on the Centre,” the CM told the party MPs.
The TRS parliamentary party meeting demanded that the central government end its “dual and illogical policy” on procurement of paddy from Telangana.
The CM asked the MPs to take action on the Center to change its stand on the paddy issue and said that it would procure only 60 lakh tonnes of paddy (equivalent to 40 lakh tonnes of rice) while the Center would actually have to procure 90 lakhs. Should do Tons of Paddy from Telangana
