“Trust my man”, Arvind Kejriwal told businessman: New allegation in excise scam case

Arvind Arvind termed the size of ED as a ‘fiction’

New Delhi :

Vijay Nair, Aam Aadmi Party’s communications in-charge Vijay Nair, arranged a FaceTime videocall between Indo Sprats MD Sameer Universal and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal from his phone. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has leveled a new charge in size. The agency alleges that Vijay Nair, on behalf of AAP leaders, obtained Rs 100 crore as advance from “South Group” for licenses in the Delhi Liquor Policy. The shape of this charge, which is with NDTV, also claims that Kejriwal used the Aam Aadmi Party excise scam to fund his election campaign in Goa. The agency alleges that Rs 70 lakh was paid to the volunteers of the survey team.

The probe agency has alleged that alliances in the “South Group” included Kavitha of the Sattarudh Bharat Rashtra Samithi, Sattarudh YPR Congress MP Magunta Srinivasalu Brand and Aurobindo Pharma’s Sharath Brand in the regions. The ED has claimed that Azhar had told Sameer Mahindroo, “Vijay is my man, you should trust him and speak accordingly.”

Responding to a related question on whether excise policy money was used in Goa in the shape of ED’s charge, Arvind Kejriwal said, “ED has filed 5000 cases. ED is there to topple the government and steal/sell MLA’s.” ED’s chart size is complete fiction.” It is alleged that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is probing the alleged Delhi Excise Policy scam. Claiming VIPs in the now-cancelled liquor policy, the ED had on January 6 filed a supplementary charge sheet against five people and seven debtors in the case. The money laundering case began after an FIR by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) indicted Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, among others. After registering the case, the CBI had tagged the premises of the Deputy Chief Minister and some intersections of the Delhi government. The excise scheme had come under the scanner after the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi recommended a CBI probe into alleged speculation in the claims of the Delhi Excise Policy 2021-22. The Lieutenant Governor had also suspended 11 excise officers.
