Anandeshwar Pandey said that someone has circulated a wrongly morphed picture to malign his image
Indian Olympic Association (IOA) treasurer and Uttar Pradesh Olympic Association secretary Anandeshwar Pandey rubbished all the allegations leveled against him, saying that someone has circulated a maliciously distorted picture to malign his image.
A series of pictures showing Pandey in a compromising position with women has taken the Indian sports world and social media by storm.
On Tuesday, Pandey lodged a complaint with the Lucknow Police Cyber Cell, claiming that the allegations against him were part of a conspiracy.
“If you go along with the IOA’s chain of events, you can understand who is behind it. I have complained against unknown people, but it is a political conspiracy and some big person must be behind it.”
“We all know who is behind this. I have been in sports administration since 1970 and no one has ever leveled any kind of allegations. Suddenly people are coming with such malicious complaints with some morphed pictures. They are trying to malign my image.”
“If any athlete complains against me, I am ready for any kind of punishment. I’ve been in sports since the 1970s, nothing like that ever happened.”
A complaint has been registered against Pandey in the Chief Minister’s portal and a copy of the complaint letter has been sent to the District Magistrate. Lucknow Regional After Complaint Play Officer Ajay Sethi has sought an explanation from Pandey.
