Mangaluru: The government is committed for the all-round development of the state. Tulu Bhasha, D Vedavyas Kamath, MLA said, Mangaluru city south. He was speaking after inaugurating an open-air theater developed by the Coastal Development Authority Karnataka Tulu Literature Academy Premises near Urva Store on Friday.
He said that the rich culture and traditions of Tulu, which have been going on for centuries, are still intact today. “With a large number of books published, Tulu enjoys prominence in the arts and literary fields. Meanwhile, several informative websites including ‘Kanaja’ promote the language and culture of Tulu Nadu,” said the MLA.
He assured that an initiative would be taken to allot an open-air theater free of cost for Tulu artistes and litterateurs to organize programs promoting the language. “The Coastal Development Authority and Mangaluru Municipal Corporation should earmark funds for the academy. The government will sanction more funds for all the remaining work to be done at Tulu Bhavan.
