The motorcycle is available in two color options – Matrix Black and Manx Platinum. The former gets gold pinstriping and black wheels, while the latter is offered in black and ruby ​​red pinstriping and polished wheels.

Norton Commando 961 is powered by a 961cc parallel-twin air-cooled engine that churns out 77 bhp @ 7,250 rpm and peak torque of 81 Nm @ 6,300 rpm. The motorcycle has a fuel tank capacity of 15-litres.

Norton Commando 961 Cafe Racer & Sport has a fully analog, circular speedometer and tachometer. Also, these motorcycles have got a small digital insert for the trip computer. Suspension duties are handled by 43 mm Ohlins USD adjustable front forks and fully adjustable Ohlins shocks at the rear. For braking, the Norton Commando 961 is equipped with Brembo braking system and front radial mount calipers with ABS.
The Limited Norton Commando 961 Cafe Racer comes equipped with clip-on handlebars and an aggressive seating position. The Commando 961 Sport (SP) gets a comfortable seating position with straight handlebars and rear seat as optional.
