Twitter flags off unusual signboard in Bengaluru, traffic police respond

The Internet has appreciated this move of the Bangalore Traffic Police.

A commuter in Bengaluru recently spotted an unusual road sign and shared a picture on social media, tagging the traffic police to clear doubts.

Curious traveler Anirudh Mukherjee shared an image of the sign showing four black dots on a white background on Twitter. In the caption, he wrote, “What traffic symbol is this? @wftrps @blrcitytraffic. It is put up just before the Hopefarm signal!”

To this, the traffic police in the Whitefield area responded swiftly and explained why the sign was put up. Officials revealed that it is a “Caution Signboard” which indicates that a blind person may be present on the road and hence commuters need to exercise caution while driving.

“Dear Sir, this is a warning sign board which (warns) that a blind person may be on the road (and therefore you should be careful while driving. There is a school (for blind people) at Hope Farm Junction where This board has been put up,” the traffic police said in a tweet.

Following the response of the traffic police, many social media users lauded the move. One user wrote, “Wow. Never knew about this sign. Thanks.” Another said, “I think it’s time for @blrcitytraffic to shed some light on daily traffic signs on Twitter and other rules around it. Will help educate us further.” A third said, “Thanks for the education! Most of us are unaware of these road signs and their meaning!”

Meanwhile, this is not the first time that a unique signboard from Bengaluru has gone viral. Some time ago a Twitter user posted a . shared two pictures of no parking signboard Outside a house in Koramangala. One of these boards read, “Don’t even think about parking here,” while the other read, “No parking, not 5 minutes, not 30 seconds, not at all!”

The post led to a buzz on social media, with some internet users supporting the move, while others speaking out against it.
