Twitter users will be able to appeal and evaluate account suspensions under the social media platform’s new reinstatement criteria starting February 1, the company said on Friday.
Under the new norms, which billionaires follow Elon Musk’s Company purchase in October Twitter Accounts will only be suspended for serious or ongoing and repeated violations of the Platform’s policies.
Serious policy violations include engaging in illegal content or activity, inciting or threatening violence or harm, and engaging in targeted harassment of other users.
Twitter said that going forward, it would take less severe action than account suspension, such as limiting the reach of Tweets that violate its policies or asking users to delete Tweets before continuing to use the account.
In December, Musk came under fire for suspending the accounts of several journalists over a controversy over publishing public data about the billionaire’s aircraft. He later restored the accounts.
A few days ago, Twitter owner Elon Musk also Tweeted How about a higher priced subscription to the social media platform that will have no ads. Calling the ads “too frequent and too big on Twitter,” the billionaire assured that steps would be taken to address those issues in the coming weeks. It is important to note here that Twitter earns around 90 per cent of its revenue from the sale of digital ads. Most recently, Musk blamed rights organizations for a “huge drop in revenue” due to pressure on brands to stop their Twitter ads.
In January, the microblogging site also announced the pricing of twitter blue Subscription for Android will be $11 (roughly Rs. 900) per month, which is similar to what iOS customers are charged. However, compared to the monthly fee, the company introduced a cheaper annual plan for web users. The higher pricing for Android users is likely to offset the fees charged by Android’s Google Play Store, such as Apple’s App Store.
