Two arrested by Gujarat ATS in Punjab heroin seizure case Ahmedabad News – Times of India

Ahmedabad : Gujarat Anti Terrorism Squad (ATS) has detained two people Raw 38 kg. District for their alleged involvement in receiving and transporting heroinseized by Punjab Police A few days ago, an official said on Wednesday.
Umar Khamisa Jat and Hamda Haroon Jat were arrested from Lakkhi Village In Lakhpat Taluka On Tuesday, he was brought to the ATS headquarters of Kutch district for further questioning.
During preliminary interrogation at the ATS office, both claimed that the heroin was sent by Pakistan-based drug dealer Gul Mohammad, an official release said.
An ATS release said they would be handed over to the Punjab Police for further investigation.
The ATS said that the Punjab Police seized 38 kg of heroin from a truck in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar on August 28 and arrested Kulwinder Ram and Bittu.
The drug was hidden in the vehicle’s toolbox.
Kulwinder Ram and Bittu had confessed to bringing drugs from Bhuj town in Kutch district of Gujarat.
“Punjab Police contacted Gujarat ATS and shared technical details about these two men from Kutch as call detail records analyzed by Punjab Police revealed that they were in touch with the arrested accused and were involved in taking and sending delivery of drugs. It is for Punjab by road,” a top ATS official said.
Based on the inputs provided by the Punjab Police, the Gujarat ATS apprehended Umar Khamisa Jat and Hamda Harun Jat from Lakkhi village on the west coast of Gujarat.
