Two persons have been arrested for hurling petrol bombs at the house of a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) member in Tamil Nadu’s Madurai district on September 24. The police gave this information on Sunday.

The accused have been identified as Usain and Samasuddin.

Two people are still absconding and will be arrested soon.

“Two persons were arrested on September 24 for throwing petrol bombs at the house of RSS functionary Krishnan. A total of four people were involved in the incident. Two are absconding and will be arrested soon. RSS worker MS Krishnan’s house It is still under investigation,” said T Senthil Kumar, Commissioner of Police, Madurai.

He further said that the police have also registered a case against the owner of the petrol pump for selling ‘loose’ petrol in bottles, which were used to fill petrol bombs.

He also requested petrol wholesalers to avoid giving petrol in the open.

“We have taken a list of vulnerable Hindu organizations and we have been given security,” he said.

Three petrol bombs were hurled at the house of an RSS member in Tamil Nadu’s Madurai district.

The incident was captured in the CCTV footage, which according to timestamp took place at the residence of MS Krishnan in Mail Anuppanadi Housing Board area of ​​Madurai at around 7:38 pm on Saturday.

The CCTV footage shows the bike-borne men coming towards the house and hurling petrol bombs before both of them fled.

In this regard, RSS member Krishnan and BJP Madurai district president Susindran had filed a petition with Keerathurai police.

“I have been working in an RSS organization for the last 45 years. At around 7 pm, we performed puja at our house with around 65 people. Then I heard a noise outside and when I came out, my car was on fire. Last year 2014 police gave me security due to threat to my life but police protection was withdrawn in 2021. More than 20 RSS workers like me have been attacked in Tamil Nadu alone. In connection with our pelting of petrol bombs. A complaint has been lodged with the police. My house. They have assured to arrest the accused by tonight,” Krishnan said.

Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu BJP has written to Home Minister Amit Shah, highlighting the increasing attacks against BJP and RSS functionaries in the recent past.

The letter to Amit Shah mentions 19 attacks (the incident included damage to houses, vehicles, throwing petrol bombs, etc.) against people associated with Hindu organizations.

Earlier, a petrol bomb was hurled at an RSS leader’s house near Tambaram near Chennai in the early hours of Saturday.
