An old woman and her grandson are electrocuted when they come into contact with a live wire in their backyard.
An old woman and her grandson died of electrocution on Sunday at Sankeshwar in Belagavi district.
Shantava Bastavadi (60) and his grandson Siddhartha Bastavadi (18) got electrocuted after coming in contact with an electric wire in the backyard of their house.
Shantawa was shocked when she went to the corner to collect some cards. The floor was wet and he did not know that they had come in contact with a live wire. Hearing the woman’s cry for help, the grandson reached the backyard and tried to get her out but she too got electrocuted. While trying to save the two, his mother suffered serious injuries.
He is admitted to the Government Hospital in Sankeshwar. Police sub-inspector Ganapati Konganoli visited the village. Case is being registered.
