Two killed in flash floods in Kerala, IMD issued red alert in 4 districts on 6 September. Thiruvananthapuram News – Times of India

Thiruvananthapuram: Two people, including an eight-year-old child, died in the flash floods. Mankayam Police said on Monday that there are waterfalls in Palod near here.
Both were part of a group that was caught in the flash floods on Sunday evening.
“A group of 10 people had reached the area to attend a wedding. They tried to meet brimuru Forest area but it was closed to the public. So he visited the place where the incident took place. While eight people of the group climbed a rock, the other two were swept away,” a police officer told PTI.
The body of the girl was recovered on Sunday night itself, but the rescue team recovered the other one today.
Another person who was washed away in the flash floods was rescued by the local people.
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for this. Thiruvananthapuramkollam, Pathanamthitta And Idukki Orange alert in the district and for tomorrow Alappuzha, Kottayam and Ernakulam district.
The weatherman has also issued an orange alert for Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad. MalappuramKozhikode, Wayanad and Kannur are indicating heavy rains in the state on September 7, a day before the Onam festival.
Red alert indicates heavy to very heavy rainfall of more than 20 cms in 24 hours, while orange alert means very heavy rain ranging from 6 cms to 20 cms of rain. Yellow alert means heavy rain between 6 to 11 cms.
