Two terrorists killed in encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam

Srinagar: Two unidentified terrorists were killed on Monday (June 27, 2022) in an ongoing encounter in Naupora-Kharpora Trubji area of ​​Kulgam district in South Kashmir. Security forces launched a cordon and search operation at Naupora-Kherpora in Trubji area of ​​the district following information about the presence of terrorists, a police official said.

A joint operation of Jammu and Kashmir Police, CRPF and Army was launched after receiving information about the presence of terrorists in the area. During the search operation, the terrorists fired upon the security forces which resulted in Gana Yudh.

Meanwhile, over 70 encounters have taken place in the Kashmir Valley this year in which 120 terrorists have been killed. Of the 120 terrorists killed, 33 were foreigners, mostly Pakistanis, 16 security personnel and 19 civilians also lost their lives in various terrorism-related incidents. The Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested 46 active terrorists this year and 192 grassroots activists were also arrested in the Kashmir Valley.
