“UAE Won’t Sell Villa…”: Singer Honey Singh On Court Order

Singer Honey Singh, after recording his statement in a Delhi court on Friday, assured the court that he will not create any third party rights over his UAE assets. The court set aside the status quo order issued on September 15, 2021.

On the last date of hearing, the court had restrained Honey Singh from alienating or forming the interest of any third party directly or owned by his companies and directed him to file all documents of his companies registered abroad, among other details. Senior advocate Rebecca John, appearing for Honey Singh, submitted that the court hearing the domestic matter cannot pass an order relating to any company. It was also argued that the business cannot be banned.

After due arguments, Metropolitan Magistrate Tania Singh recorded the assurance/statement of the counsel appearing for Honey Singh that he would not create any third party rights/sell his property in UAE, and also filed company documents and so on. Assurance, accordingly the status quo order issued on the last date of hearing is set aside.

Meanwhile, Honey Singh’s counsel assured that they would not sell the identified villa in the meantime and would also file all documents relating to their companies registered abroad by the next date of hearing. The matter has now been listed for further arguments on September 28, 2021.

Earlier, the same court had issued notice to Bollywood singer Yo Yo Honey Singh on a fresh application filed by his wife seeking third party rights over immovable and movable property owned by him or through his companies in UAE. was requested to stop.

Wife Shalini Talwar submitted in a new application that Honey Singh being a world famous rapper/singer/music director for his many shows and advertisements abroad, receives payment/remuneration in his foreign bank accounts and for the said purpose , he has incorporated many companies abroad and has also bought many properties abroad.

The application states that Honey Singh has executed a General Power of Attorney dated November 19, 2019, duly registered in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in favor of the applicant/ Shalini Talwar and has been given to him all his movable and Gives rights and control over immovable property. in UAE.

The court was hearing a complaint case filed against the Bollywood singer by his wife under the “Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act”.

The petition said, “Honey Singh and others also criminally intimidated the applicant (wife), causing her immense pressure and torture. The applicant (wife) has suffered a lot of pain and injury from the respondents during the course of marriage.” As stated the whole incident clearly shows that the Respondents have indulged in cruelty, physical, mental, sexual, financial and have caused extreme torture to the applicant’s wife. In such a case, the applicant wife has been entitled to compensation of Rs.20 crores from the Respondent. deserves.”

The complainant urged the court to pass a protection order under section 18 of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act 2005 and directed the singer to pay compensation under the provision of the PWDV Act 2005 and release Stridhan and other material.

It has also sought the assistance of security officers and police for implementation and execution of orders passed in its favor and against the defendants.
