General category candidates need to score at least 40 per cent marks in both the papers – Paper 1 and 2. While reserved categories candidates need to score at least 35 per cent marks to clear UGC NET. Candidates must clear each paper individually and also in aggregate. The exam is conducted twice a year, first in June and second in December.
