New Delhi: There were reports of sabotage in the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) from some centres, which is why the entrance test had to be taken. Cancelled And postponed, University Grants Commission (UGC) chairman M. Jagdish Kumar said on Sunday.
The second phase of CUET exam, which is for admission to undergraduate courses in several central, state and deemed universities across the country, was scheduled on August 4, 5 and 6. National Testing Agency (NTA) on Friday announced That the examinations of 4th and 5th August were rescheduled and cancelled.
Earlier on Sunday, Kumar had announced that the CUET second phase exam was postponed from August 12-14 Adjourned From 24 to 28 August, a series of festivals were falling on the back dates.
The chairman said, “Due to technical snag in some centres, the rest had to be rescheduled. At some centres, the staff should have shown more empathy with the students. There were also reports and signs of sabotage in the process. NTA immediately swung into action and canceled and postponed the examination in such likely centres. ,
“Strict action will be taken against anyone involved in willful sabotage of the process,” he added, adding, “CUET-UG is a massive exercise by NTA spread across 61 subjects in 13 languages across the country.”
He also said that the interest of the students was “paramount” in the conduct of the exams.
“The best interests of the students were kept in mind to cancel the examination in some centres. NTA is constantly in touch with the students through email, messaging and voice mail to keep them informed of the changes and extra precautions are being taken in this regard.

UGC and NTA are now deploying more teachers to deal with students as they have more experience in dealing with students with empathy.
“Due to the efforts and corrective actions taken by NTA, we are hopeful that CUET-UG will be conducted smoothly in the coming days,” the Chairman said.
