UK police officers give brides a lift to their wedding after coach breaks down

The brides, Gemma and Sian Bachelor-Thomas.

It was an incident to remember for a lifetime when police officers gave two brides a ride to a wedding ceremony when the coach carrying their wedding party broke down on the road.

The brides, Gemma and Sian Bachelor-Thomas, were worried they wouldn’t be able to make it to the register office where the pair were due to marry, but Hampshire Police were there at the right time and place to help them get to the venue.

In a Facebook post, officers from Hedges & Neighborhood Policing Team said, “We were in the right place at the right time this morning as a coach carrying a wedding party broke down on St John’s Road in Hedges End.”

“The bride was naturally very worried that she was going to miss her wedding… We asked her to sit in the police car, and we gave her a lift to our wedding venue, arriving in minutes. We wish her all the best.” Best wishes for a very happy future together and so glad we are there to help!”

The police constables also shared two photographs of the brides in a Facebook post, which received a lot of positive reactions from social media users.
