Ukraine government has decided to allow international medical students, including candidates from India, to appear for the Unified State Qualifying Examination (USQE) from their country of origin. On March 28, the government of Ukraine decided to adopt a decree for students affected around the world. This new announcement will allow students to appear for the Unified State Qualification Examination outside Ukraine in their place of permanent or temporary residence.

The government of Ukraine announced the move via a press release on 31 March. According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Emin Dzhaparova also spoke about the matter during her visit to New Delhi. He is in the capital city for a four-day visit starting April 9.

“On amendments to the procedure for conducting the Unified State Qualification Examination (USQE) for graduates of the master’s degree in health service, which allows students to take the USQE outside Ukraine in the places of their permanent residence / temporary stay during the period of martial law Will give. , “the government of Ukraine announced.

Noting that many students were forced to leave Ukraine and are unable to return due to the current security situation, the Government of Ukraine adopted a new decree on March 28, the statement said.

USQE is conducted for MBBS aspirants to obtain their medical license. The examination will consist of the following:

-An integrated test exam “Croc”.

-An objective structured practical (diagnostic) examination.

-and a professional English language test.

Through this decree, students living outside Ukraine will get a chance to appear in the KROK exam. The test will be conducted at test centers that are recognized by the State Non-Profit Enterprise in the respective countries of their stay including India.

During her visit to India, Zhaparova said that over 20,000 Indians, mostly medical candidates, were evacuated from Ukraine following the invasion by neighboring Russia on February 24, 2022. According to UNI, since most of them had to leave their studies midway, the Ukrainian government is now coming up with measures. In March last year, Ukraine had canceled the KROK exam in view of the war. Many medical colleges had also started their online classes.
