Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday called for a “just peace” in Ukraine during a phone conversation with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, the president announced.

“President Erdogan stressed the need to achieve a just peace in order to prevent the loss of life and destruction,” it said in a brief statement.
