UNGA president visits Anganwadi center in Karnataka, lauds govt, UNICEF

United Nations General Assembly President Saba Korosi visited a rural childcare facility, Anganwadi Center in Karnataka and expressed his gratitude to the local people, the State of Karnataka and UNICEF for providing vital services.

“During my visit to a primary health center in Kannuru, KarnatakaI saw firsthand how the UN’s partnership with the government is assisting in COVID-19 management through digital technical assistance and effective cold chain management of vaccines,” he said.

Korosi, Who? Was invited by External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar for a three-day visit to India Bangalore On Monday after reaching India on Sunday.

During his stay in Bengaluru, Korosi will interact with scientists and academicians at the Indian Institute of Science as well as representatives of various civil society organisations.

he will also do water darshan health sector projects in the area. Korosi took to Twitter to share his schedule in Bengaluru.

Before reaching Karnataka, he held a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, where they discussed the importance of conserving and optimizing the world’s water resources.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister reaffirmed India’s commitment to multilateralism, including the United Nations.

Earlier, Korosi addressed the 40th Sapru House Lecture, where he appreciated India’s call for peace in Ukraine and across the world.

Korosi praised India for its efforts to promote peace in Ukraine and globally. They acknowledged India’s stand in advocating for peace in Ukraine, which has resulted in suffering and displacement, and has had a profound impact on energy and food supplies around the world.

UNGA President appreciated the Government of India for ensuring the safety of Indian students studying in Ukraine during the outbreak of conflict.

Korosi also stressed on the need for changes in the composition, membership and rules of the council. Later, the UNGA president ate bajra during lunch with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. In addition, the two leaders discussed the G20 agenda, UN reform and the Ukraine conflict.
