Unhappy with the result, 14,000 students of Madhya Pradesh board gave improvement exam

Around 14,000 students of class 10 and 12 Madhya Pradesh They took the physical test conducted by the state board because they were dissatisfied with the marks obtained on the basis of the previous performance.

Quoting an official of the news agency MP Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) PTI Told that the students who were absent for a long time or who had failed were also allowed to appear in the examination.

However, due to unhappiness with the result, the number of students who appeared for the exam remained high. MP Board Public Relations Officer SK Chaurasia said, “Mainly, students who are unhappy with their grades are appearing for the test.”

The state government had organized the special annual examination from Monday for the class 10 and 12 students of the academic session 2020-21. Chaurasia said that all the COVID-19 protocols were being followed while conducting the exams.

According to PTI, several students had shown confidence before entering the examination hall on Monday and said that they would score well in the tests.

A class 12 student from Bhopal said that he is unhappy that his result this year was based on his class 10 marks.

“It is difficult to judge a student on the basis of his past performance. After the last board exam (Class 10), I started studying hard. I know my grades will definitely improve.”

The student said that he also knows that it is a risky proposition, given the fact that if he does not score well now, he may suffer badly (in education).

Due to the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, class 10 and 12 board exams were not conducted in the state this year. Instead, students were assessed on the basis of their past performance.

The results of around 18 lakh students of class 10 and 12 were earlier declared on the basis of their past performance.

Class 12 students were assessed on the basis of marks obtained in class 10, while class 10 students were assessed on the basis of their internal school tests scores conducted in the last three years.

Out of the total, around 9,000 class 10 and 5,000 class 12 students were now physically taking the test. He said that the examinations of both the classes would be completed by the end of this month.

According to an official, if the students appearing in the improvement exam do not score well, they will be declared as failed. He said that if a student fails in a subject, he will be given a chance to clear it (in the form of supplementary examination).
