Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented her fourth Union Budget which focused on spending on infrastructure. Sitharaman said the budget seeks to lay the foundation and give a blueprint for running the economy in the next 25 years. Sitharaman said that national highways will be expanded by 25,000 km during 2022-23 and the National Ropeway Development Program will be taken up in public-private partnership (PPP) mode. He also said that 5G spectrum will be auctioned in 2022.
