UP BJP leader sentenced to 5 years in fake marksheet case, preparing to lose MLA status

BJP MLA from Gosaiganj seat of Ayodhya Indra Pratap Tiwari alias Khabbu Tiwari has been sentenced to five years imprisonment by the MP-MLA court after 29 years in the fake marksheet case.

Along with Khabbu Tiwari, Saket College’s alumni union president Phoolchand Yadav and Chanakya Parishad chief Kripa Nidhi Tiwari have also been found guilty of falsifying their marksheets 29 years ago and sentenced to five years’ imprisonment and a fine of Rs 13,000 each. has been heard. After the sentence, all the convicts were sent to jail.

Khabbu Tiwari’s assembly membership came under threat as soon as he was sentenced to five years. According to the law, there is a provision for termination of membership with imprisonment of not more than two years. According to the experts, Khabbu Tiwari is all set to lose the status of MLA, although he has said to challenge this decision in the High Court.

In 1992, Yaduvansh Ram Tripathi, the then principal of Saket College, had registered a case against three people for taking admission on the basis of fake marksheets. Accused Phoolchand Yadav had taken admission in B.Sc second year in 1986 even after failing in B.Sc first year examination and back paper examination. He had resorted to fake marksheets. Similarly, despite failing in B.Sc second year examination in 1990, B.Sc third year and Kripanidhan Tiwari in first year 1989, Khabbu Tiwari fraudulently took admission in LLB second year despite failing in LLB first year.

A case was registered against these three under section 420 467 468 471 of the IPC in the police station Ramjanmabhoomi.
