UP bride refuses to marry ‘bald’ groom, because his wig accidentally came off at the wedding

In Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, a bride refused to marry the groom after the wedding rituals took place. Recently, many such strange reasons have come to the fore, due to which people have left their marriages. This particular incident took place in Unnao, reports IANS. Half of the wedding rituals were completed and the main rituals were to take place early in the morning. However, the bride decided to keep her foot in the middle and the reason could be pointing towards the relevance of Ayushmann Khurrana’s 2019 film Bala.

Ayushmann’s film portrayed the struggle of a bald man, who was suffering from premature baldness and had to hide the fact from his fiancée (played by Yami Gautam). Something similar happened in the incident of Uttar Pradesh as well. The reason for the bride’s refusal was the groom’s baldness. According to a Times Now report, the groom fainted before entering the mandap and accidentally took off his wig as he fell to the ground. Everyone saw that he was bald, a truth he hid from the bride’s family.

Upon learning of the matter, the bride refused to marry, although her family tried to convince her. The local police had to get involved but she stuck to her point. A panchayat meeting was called to discuss the matter, where the bride’s family claimed that Rs 5.66 lakh was spent by them on arranging the wedding. This money was returned to him by the groom’s family.

The bride and the groom returned to Kanpur without getting married. “If they had told us about the groom’s baldness, we could have mentally prepared the bride and she would not have been shocked. You can’t expect the marriage to start on a lie,” the bride’s uncle was quoted as saying.

Pariyar police outpost in-charge Ramjit Yadav said that he also tried to convince the bride but she refused. So a compromise had to be made between the two sides. Recently, a bride in Rajasthan refused to go ahead with the wedding after hours of delay in the “baaraat” after the groom danced drunk. The bride refused to marry him and his family decided to marry him off to someone else, reports India today. The incident happened on Sunday in Chelana village of Rajgarh tehsil. The “muhurta” for the wedding was scheduled at 1.15 am and the procession for the bride’s house began at 9 pm. During the procession, the groom along with his friends danced to the tunes of the DJ, getting drunk.
