Amid a spurt in COVID-19 cases, the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath-led government has started preparations on a war footing against the infection in Uttar Pradesh. He has directed his officers to make available genome sequencing facilities in major medical institutions of Gorakhpur, Jhansi, Ghaziabad and SGPGI, Lucknow.

Addressing a high-level meeting, he said, “Genome sequencing is being done in many institutions of the state for accurate identification of Kovid-19 variants. Given the increase in cases, it is necessary to increase the means of genome sequencing.”

Asking his officers to ensure that citizens are constantly sensitized about preventive measures, he said, “Situation is being monitored in all districts. Precaution is the best first aid, so people should follow the mantra of SMS (sanitisation, mask and social distancing).

He also urged the people not to panic unnecessarily about the current coronavirus situation and directed the officials to provide correct and proper information about the situation.

Instructing not to allow anyone without screening and sanitisation, Adityanath said help desks in all government, semi-government, private, trusts, institutions, companies, educational institutions, offices and industrial units in the state with immediate effect. should be made functional. , Daycare centers should also be established as per the need.
