UP: Former SP MLA surrenders in MP-MLA court in year-old murder case, gets bail later

According to the lawyer of the former MLA of Sultanpur’s Lambhua assembly constituency, Santosh Pandey surrendered before the Special Magistrate Yogesh Yadav.

Former Samajwadi Party MLA Santosh Pandey surrendered in an MP-MLA court here on Monday in a year-old attempt to murder case and was later granted bail.

According to the counsel for the former MLA of Sultanpur’s Lambhua assembly constituency, Pandey surrendered before special magistrate Yogesh Yadav and also filed his bail plea.

The lawyer said after keeping Pandey in custody for a few hours, the special magistrate allowed the petition.

About a year ago, a case was registered against Santosh Pandey and his associates for allegedly attempting to murder BJP leader Jaishankar Tripathi during an event organized in Naharpur area of ​​the district, he said.

On the complaint of Tripathi, a case has been registered at Kotwali Dehat police station.

Pandey represented Lambhua in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly from 2012 to 2017.
