UP MLA Subhash Pasi joins BJP hours after he was expelled from Samajwadi Party

Lucknow: Samajwadi Party MLA Subhash Pasi, who was expelled from the party on Tuesday, joined the BJP here.

BJP state general secretary Govind Narayan Shukla said, “SP MLA Subhash Passi, his wife Reena Pasi joined BJP in the presence of party’s state president Swatantra Dev Singh here today.”

Singh welcomed Pasi into the party and said his joining would make the BJP stronger.

Earlier in the day, Pasi, MLA from Ghazipur’s Sadipur seat, was expelled from the SP on charges of anti-party activities.

Pasi, a Dalit, is a second-time SP MLA from Saidpur seat, and had held the position of the SC/ST wing of the SP.

Last week, BJP MLA from Sitapur Sadar Rakesh Rathore had joined the Samajwadi Party.
