Schools and colleges are slated to remain closed in Uttar Pradesh due to the upcoming phase 3 general elections 2024 which is scheduled to commence on May 7

The third phase of Lok Sabha Election 2024 is scheduled to commence on May 7. Due to this, schools and colleges in Uttar Pradesh will remain closed across several constituencies including Sambhal, Hathras, Agra, Fatehpur Sikri, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etah, Badaun, Amla, and Bareilly. A total of 94 Lok Sabha constituencies across 12 states and UTs will be covered during this phase, reported Times of India.

Furthermore, with the beginning of May, summer vacation has also been announced in various states. This year, a heatwave alert has been issued in most of the states including UP, Bihar, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Punjab, Haryana, West Bengal, Delhi NCR. That is why school timings have been changed in many states and summer holidays have been declared in many states.

In most of the states of the country, the temperature is being recorded more than 40 degrees these days. That is why summer vacation has been declared in many states including UP, Bihar, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, and Delhi. In Uttar Pradesh, schools will be closed for at least a month in most of the districts starting from May 13 or 15. Depending on the weather conditions, summer vacation will be increased or decreased.

In Delhi too, temperatures of 40 degrees and above have been recorded since April. School holiday was also declared in most of the schools of Delhi NCR today starting May 1. School timings have also been changed in Delhi, Noida, and Ghaziabad. Summer vacation will also be announced soon in these places.

On Wednesday, an email bomb threat was sent to nearly 60 Delhi-NCR schools. Schools were evacuated and students were sent home as soon as word of the bomb threat spread. The bomb threat was first received by DPS Dwarka, after which a team of the Delhi Police, fire department, and the bomb disposal squad (BDS) were dispatched to the scene. Delhi Police have placed a security cordon around the school campus and are conducting search operations to find the bomb. Furthermore, a PCR call regarding a bomb in the Delhi Public Schools in Dwarka and Mayur Vihar was also received.
