Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to launch several new and updated models in India this financial year and we already know that the SUV is going to be a mainstay for the Indian automaker. The company has already introduced the new Baleno, Ertiga and XL6 this year and soon the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza is also expected to get a major revamp. But the model that really got us excited is the company’s new Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos rival- codenamed YFG. Spy images of the Maruti Suzuki YFG have surfaced online and it is the same model that is being developed by Toyota and will be shared with Maruti Suzuki.

The new compact SUV will be based on the New-Gen Architecture (DNGA) of Toyota and Daihatsu.

These pictures have surfaced online for the second time and earlier both Maruti and Toyota’s test mules were seen testing together. Despite the heavy camouflage, elements like the split headlamp set-up and silver alloy wheels are quite evident and the SUV has a nice and straight stance. Obviously, there will be design changes on the Toyota Badge model which will be in line with its new family look, similar to what we have seen on the new Toyota Glanza.

The new compact SUV will be based on Toyota and Daihatsu’s New-Gen Architecture (DNGA), which is basically a derivative of the TNGA platform that gave rise to models like the Camry in India. Essentially, it is a cost-effective version of the TNGA platform, developed for underpinning small cars. In terms of features, we expect the new SUV to offer all the modern age features like wireless charging, ventilated seats and connected car suite.
