Firstly, KTM has re-tuned the fully adjustable WP suspension package in the 2023 model. It has WP XPLOR forks at the front and WP XPLOR PDS shocks at the rear. The set up has been re-tuned for better rider experience and less fatigue. In terms of bodywork, the 890 Adventure R has also received major upgrades. The fairing, fuel tank and body cowls have been redesigned. It also gets a lower windshield, higher front fenders and a new engine protector.
The electronic suite in the KTM 890 Adventure R has also gone through a major upgrade. It now gets a 5-inch TFT display with USB-C connector for added convenience. The user interface now gets colorful pictograms and intuitive graphics for easy operation. Turn-by-turn navigation has also been integrated into the new system. Another stand-out feature for 2023 is the ‘call-out’ function, using this a rider can set up to 10 phone numbers as favorites for quick calling capability.
In terms of safety, the 2023 KTM 890 Adventure R gets advanced dual-channel ABS that uses an in-built 6D sensor to take readings and optimize braking performance as per the terrain. The system delivers this by continuously informing the CMU about the bike’s angle, pitch and other behavioral parameters. OFFROAD ABS functionality is also on board and gets activated automatically when the motorcycle is in OFFROAD or RALLY mode.
KTM has also added a set of new ENDURO TRAIL+ off-road tyres to the 890 Adventure R, the tires will be shipped with the bike being sold in the international and European markets. LED indicators and new graphics are also part of the 2023 update. More importantly, the KTM 890 Adventure R will be equipped with a demo mode for the first time. This mode allows the riders to experience all the specifications and options for the first 1,500 km, after which, the rider can opt for his preferred feature pack.
Outgoing KTM 890 Adventure R Features An 889 cc, 2-cylinder, parallel twin engine that produces 104.6 PS of power and 100 Nm of torque. Its launch has been confirmed for the US and European markets but when it will arrive in India, no announcement has been made yet.
