This year, there has been a clear decrease in the number of candidate registrations for the UP Board exam. As of now, a total of 55,08,206 students have registered for the exam in 2024. For the 2023 board exams, 58, 86, 634 students had reportedly registered.

This drop of 3,76,428 in the number of candidates registered for final examinations, according to UPMSP officials, is largely because of strict exams and anti-copying measures implemented by the board. The UP government had applied several strict punishment norms for those caught cheating last year.
