Bengaluru Water Crisis:

Amid Bengaluru’s ongoing water crisis, the city’s Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) has implemented stringent measures to prevent water waste. The BWSSB issued an order prohibiting the use of water for car washing, gardening, water fountains, construction work, maintenance, or entertainment purposes. A fine of Rs 5,000 will be imposed on anyone found using water for the aforementioned purposes. If people are caught wasting water, first-time offenders will be fined Rs 5,000, while repeat offenders will be fined Rs 5,500. ED Raids Multiple Locations in Kolkata Over Teacher Recruitment Scam:

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) searched multiple locations in Kolkata and surrounding areas on March 8 as part of its investigation into the West Bengal teacher recruitment scam, according to officials. A five-member ED team conducted searches at the home of a former para-teacher, who was alleged to be a close associate of arrested ex-state education minister Partha Chatterjee, in the Patharghata Mazar Sharif area of New Town, near Kolkata, they said. LPG Cylinder Price Cut by Rs 100:

On March 8, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that his Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government has decided to reduce LPG cylinder prices by Rs 100 on the occasion of International Women’s Day. “This will significantly ease the financial burden on millions of households across the country, especially benefiting our Nari Shakti,” the prime minister posted in X (formerly known as Twitter). India started deporting nationals of Myanmar on March 8 after a recent uptick in violence between the junta and rebels in a border area.
