US man fatally shoots parking attendant over $40 fake, then resumes his date

Mr. Aguirre is now being held on $200,000 bond.

A US man who was allegedly duped of $40 in parking fees on a date shot and killed the scammer before returning for dinner. according to a Press releaseThe accused has been identified as 29-year-old Eric Aguirre. He appeared in court on Thursday charged with murder in the death of 46-year-old Elliot Nix.

According to CNNAfter allegedly killing Mr Nix in a car park near Houston’s Rodeo Goat restaurant, Mr Aguirre continued their dinner date after telling his partner that “everything is fine”.

The Houston Police Department said that on the evening of April 11, Mr. Aguirre and his accomplice parked their vehicles near the location of the burger and the victim told them it would cost $20 each. Mr. Aguirre then paid the $40 and was later told by restaurant staff that Mr. Nix did not work for the parking lot.

A witness who saw the 29-year-old’s initial conversation with Mr Nix told police he saw the defendant run to his car, grab a gun and run after Mr Nix, who was out of his sight. The witness heard the gunshot and then “saw the suspect walk back to his car with the gun non-handed”.

According to the outlet, another witness who found Mr Nix lying in a pool of blood in the street called the emergency number. Police said Mr Aguirre shot Mr Nix in the torso, and he later died in hospital from his wounds.

Mr. Aguirre, on the other hand, after leaving the scene, put the gun in his car and went back to where his date was waiting. The two then entered the restaurant and the woman later told police that she did not see or hear about the shooting at the time.

The woman told investigators that when Mr. Aguirre came back to her after following Mr. Nix away, he told her, “He scared that guy away and everything was fine.” Before being seated at the restaurant, “Eric looked uncomfortable and suggested they go eat somewhere else,” she said.

Mr. Aguirre is now being held on $200,000 bond. He did not plead guilty and remained behind bars Friday night.
