US says “closely engaging” with all allies including India on Ukraine war

Ned Price said Russia’s war against Ukraine has had an impact on countries around the world.

Washington:

US Secretary of State Ned Price said at a press briefing on Friday that the United States is engaging with allies and partners around the world, including India, over Russia’s war against Ukraine.

“We are engaging very closely with all our allies and partners around the world on the question of Russia’s brutal aggression against Ukraine. Of course, this includes India. The international community needs to firmly hold Russia accountable for its atrocities. recognizes that it is committed and that its forces are committed in Ukraine,” Ned Price said.

Addressing the press briefing, Ned Price said that Russia’s war against Ukraine has affected countries around the world. He said the US and India share a commitment to upholding a rules-based international order that respects territorial integrity and sovereignty.

Ned Price said, “We have been in regular close contact with India on what we can do to hold Russia accountable and impose additional costs on Russia for its war. We have always taken the same policy approach.” may not share, but share a commitment to both.” Uphold a rules-based international order that respects territorial integrity and sovereignty.”

He further said, “It is at the heart of our global strategic partnership with India. It is at the heart of what we want to do with the Quad, along with the other bilateral and multilateral work we do with India and Indian partners.” He said that the US agreed with India that restoration of peace in Ukraine is “necessary”.

At the press briefing, Price said, “We strongly agree with India that the restoration of lasting peace in Ukraine is essential. This is the same message that President Zelensky issued during the G20.” He said the US agreed with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement that “today’s age is not an age of war”.

“We welcome India’s support for the people of Ukraine. India has provided humanitarian assistance and calls for an immediate end to Russia’s brutal war against Ukraine. We also very much agree with PM Modi’s claim Today’s age is not the age of war. Of course, it was this comment that resonated at the G20 as well. We’ve heard that comment even at the United Nations,” Ned Price said.

Noting that India may be in a position to bring peace to Ukraine, Price said, “We believe that countries like India, countries that have ties to Russia and Ukraine may be in a position to help bring about dialogue and diplomacy.” are who can be one.” Let the day end this war.”

He continued, “I say one day and I put it conditional because there is one country that has definitely shown no willingness to end the brutal aggression, and that is definitely Russia.”

Ned Price said that the US continues to blame Russia for the war against Ukraine. He expressed confidence that countries like India can have a role to play when Russia is ready for “real dialogue and diplomacy” that will lead to peace.

“Just as we continue to hold Russia and senior Russian policy-makers responsible for this brutal war. It is our hope that ultimately, as Moscow’s calculus changes, it comes to recognizing that this war was a strategic failure.” And then Moscow will be more interested in real dialogue and real diplomacy that leads to a just and lasting peace and we believe countries like India can have a special role to play at that time and we welcome that, Ned Price said. Huh.
