USCIS announces that H-1B limit of 85,000 for fiscal year 2023 has been met – Times of India

Mumbai: US Citizenship One Immigration Services ,USCIS) has officially announced that it has received a sufficient number of petitions (applications) to reach the annual quota H-1B A cap visa of 85,000 (which includes 20,000 for the master cap) for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2023.
“We have completed sending non-selective notifications to the online accounts of registrants,” it said. In other words, with this quota meeting, there will be no other lottery.
In its earlier article, TOI spoke to immigration experts who correctly observed that there would be no second lottery.

The USCIS statement said the immigration agency will continue to accept and process petitions that are exempt from the H-1B limit. Petitions filed for existing H-1B workers who were earlier counted under the ceiling, and who still retain their cap numbers, are exempted from the FY 2023 H-1B cap.
In addition, USCIS will continue to accept and process petitions to extend the length of time an existing H-1B employee is in the US; changes to the terms of employment for existing H-1B workers; allowing existing H-1B employees to change employers; and finally allow current H-1B employees to work concurrently in additional H-1B positions.
