Uttar Pradesh: 7 children died of viral fever in Agra so far in September

So far seven children have died of viral fever in the Agra district of Uttar Pradesh in the month of September.

Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Arun Kumar Srivastava told PTI that a 14-year-old boy died in Chachiha village on Sunday morning, while two siblings died in Rasulpur village of Fatehpur Sikri on Saturday evening.

Two deaths were reported from Giriraj Dham Colony under Itimad-ud-Daula police station area and one death was reported from Nuhai area on Thursday. A child died in Khadia village of Khandoli.

Srivastava said, “The special thing about this fever is that we are getting very little time for treatment and people are dying fast.”

However, he dismissed reports that dengue was the cause of two deaths in Rasulpur.

So far this year, 61 dengue cases have been reported from Agra. While 41 patients have been cured, 20 are undergoing treatment in government hospitals.

The CMO urged people to immediately visit a government hospital or community health center if they experience symptoms like high fever, vomiting and dizziness.

On the steps being taken by the administration to prevent dengue, Srivastava said that the health department is organizing awareness and medical camps in villages and cities and fogging is being done.

Meanwhile, following the outbreak of viral fever in the city, over 250 patients, including several children, have been admitted to Kanpur’s Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital in the past one month.

However, no death has been reported from these diseases.

“More than 250 patients of viral fever have been admitted to our hospital since a month or so. Most of the patients have recovered while some patients of viral pneumonia have developed complications. The mortality rate is very low. Also, 25 The patients have been admitted for dengue. Some, including 10 children, have also been admitted for malaria, Dr. Sanjay Kala, in-charge of Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital told ANI on Saturday. However, no one has died due to these diseases in the hospital.”

Dr Manish Yadav, in-charge of Matri Shishu Hospital, said: “We have around 200 children admitted in our hospital for diseases like fever, tuberculosis, meningitis, gastroenteritis etc. We have 15-20 children who are admitted for viral fever. , They are recovering. Also, one child has been confirmed to have dengue.”
