Uttar Pradesh Elections 2022: OP Rajbhar’s SBSP allots ‘sticks’ to contest elections

The Election Commission has allotted a ‘stick’ symbol to the Om Prakash Rajbhar-led Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) in Uttar Pradesh. SBSP has tied up with Samajwadi Party for the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. Rajbhar announced the allocation of the election symbol on Twitter.

A former minister in the Yogi Adityanath-led government, Rajbhar is campaigning extensively along with the SP chief Akhilesh Yadav And separately. In the public meetings he has addressed, Rajbhar has made a scathing attack on his former ally BJP. The leader reached Varanasi on Wednesday, where he slammed the central and state governments on several issues and also said that the government was “ignoring the plight of farmers”.

The SBSP chief said, “The construction of Vishwanath Corridor will not benefit the poor. BJP people only see things like Muslims, Pakistan and graveyards. Whereas the poor need bread, cloth, house and education.

Earlier, speaking about his party’s alliance with the SP, Rajbhar said the alliance was not for seats but for a caste-based census. He said, ‘If the government is formed, there will be a census on the basis of caste. On the other hand, there is an alliance with SP on the issues of inflation, corruption and employment and I do not want any post. If I wanted any post, I would have been a minister.”

Recently, during a visit to Lalitpur with Akhilesh, Rajbhar had said, “We have to make Akhilesh Yadav the chief minister at any cost. 300 units of electricity will be free if Akhilesh Yadav’s government is formed. After losing the by-election, BJP is scared and has reduced the price of petrol. Take out BJP from Uttar Pradesh, inflation will automatically come down.
