Pilibhit: A police sub-inspector (SI) and a constable have been relieved of duty”dance in uniform” during the Independence Day celebrations, an official said on Wednesday.
pilibhit superintendent of police Dinesh Kumar PAccording to a press statement issued by the police, after taking cognizance of the video of police personnel dancing in uniform, SI Saurabh Kumar and constable Anuj were sent to the police lines.
The action took place late Tuesday night.
The two reportedly danced during the Independence Day celebrations at Puranpur police station on Monday. This act was recorded by someone on the phone and the video was shared online.
The SP has asked the Circle Officer of the area, Virendra Vikram, to investigate the matter and submit the report. The accused policemen have been removed from the duty in the police station and put in the police line till further orders.
