Ahead of the Uttarakhand assembly elections to be held on February 14, the Congress party revised its list of candidates, including former state CM and party leader Harish Rawat, who will now contest from Lal Kuan assembly seat instead of Nainital’s Ramnagar seat. , as notified earlier. Along with this, Rawat’s daughter Anupama Rawat has been fielded from Haridwar (Rural) seat.

Sources said that the members of the Uttarakhand Congress Screening Committee met on Wednesday afternoon and discussed the third list of candidates from the state, which is likely to be released by Thursday. Some of the candidates from the previous list are likely to be changed. Several leaders were physically present in the meeting and some of them attended the meeting virtually.

A source had said earlier today, “The members of the sub-committee will give all the reports to the Congress president and the final decision will be taken then. The members of the CEC sub-committee are in touch with all the leaders.”

Congress leaders said the party was also monitoring the political moves of its rivals. The party has so far released a list of 64 candidates out of 70 for the upcoming elections. The first list of 53 candidates was released on Saturday night.
