Taking Dhanush fans into a frenzied excitement, Gemini TV has announced that Vaathi will soon be streaming on the channel.
Dhanush has again created a record for himself after starring in the critically acclaimed Telugu film Sir, the Tamil version of which is called Vaathi. After wreaking havoc in theatres, Vaathi released on March 17 on Netflix, which reportedly acquired the streaming rights for a whopping amount of Rs 20 crore. Now a surprise awaits movie buffs, who were unable to catch the Dhanush-starrer in theaters nor do they have an OTT subscription. Vaathi is all set to premiere it on television very soon. The special thing is that this film directed by Venky Atluri will be aired on the Telugu channel Gemini TV.

Starring Dhanush and Samyukta Menon, the story of Vaathi revolves around how a simple school teacher tries to curb privatization of educational centers while battling social prejudices and corruption. Collaboratively produced by Seven Screen Studios and Sony Pictures, Vaathi proved to be a box office success, raking in millions at the ticket window. Dhanush was also praised for his stellar performance.
Talking about Dhanush, the actor is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Captain Miller. Directed by Arun Matheswaran, the period action-adventure has become the talk of the town recently, especially because of the intriguing posters. Captain Miller has Sudeep Kishan, Priyanka Arulmohan, Shivrajkumar and John Kokken in lead roles.
According to a report in Captain Miller’s production house Satya Jyothi Films, while the first look poster will be unveiled in June, the official teaser will be made public in July, possibly on the occasion of Dhanush’s birthday on July 28. With music by Captain Miller. The film by GV Prakash will be releasing on the big screen this year in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi languages.
