“Julian Nagelsmann has tested positive for the coronavirus despite being fully vaccinated,” the German giants said in a statement.

“He will return to Munich in an air ambulance separate from the team and isolate at home.”

Nagelsmann missed a 4-0 loss to Benfica in Lisbon on Wednesday after he fell ill and his assistant coaches Dino Topmöller and Xaver Zembrod took charge on the bench.

Bayern have not said how long the 34-year-old will be sidelined.

The team has a busy schedule with five matches in the next two weeks ahead of the November international break.
